Can I have a home birth?
Home birth is safe for many low risk women, certain pre-existing medical conditions and medications can make it unsafe for you and your baby to have a home birth. This decision is made on a case-by-case basis by the midwife and family.

Am I too ‘high risk’ for home birth?
Each mama’s risk factors are assessed at the start of care and throughout. The following conditions can make home birth unsafe – chronic high blood pressure, diabetes requiring medication, 3 or more cesareans and certain mental health conditions.
Do you offer TOLAC or VBAC?
Yes, we do offer pregnancy care and home birth options for mama’s who want a Trial of Labor after Cesarean and Vaginal Birth After Cesarean. Risk factors will be assessed on a case by case basis.
Do you offer water birth?
Yes, it is included in our home birth fee.
Does insurance cover home birth? Or do you take insurance?
Many Florida healthcare plans will reimburse for home birth services postpartum. Although we do not take insurance, we do offer affordable payment plans.
Can I transfer into care from another provider?
Yes, you can transfer into care after starting with another provider. We will request records from your previous provider.
Who can come to my home birth?
You are welcome to have whoever you choose at your birth including a photographer, videographer, doula, family and children.

Does insurance cover doula or breastfeeding services?
Some healthcare plans will reimburse for doula services. We can provide you with an invoice for services.
How can I benefit from a birth doula?
Birth doulas hold space for mothers. Doulas can benefit mothers by providing education, physical and emotional support during pregnancy and birth. Mothers benefit from the knowledge that doulas are able to provide on all aspects of their journey. The support doulas provide lessens anxiety and improves overall birth experience for mothers.
Evidence Based Birth® reports these stats on the benefits of a doula:
• 8% increase in the likelihood of a spontaneous vaginal birth
• 10% decrease in the use of any medications for pain relief
• Shorter labors by 41 minutes on average
• 25% decrease in the risk of Cesarean
• 31% decrease in the risk of being dissatisfied with the birth experience
• 38% decrease in the baby’s risk of a low five minute Apgar score
How can I benefit from a postpartum doula?
Birth is not over when the baby arrives, it is a transformative experience for mothers and families. The fourth trimester is during the newborn stage of life and postpartum doulas can help the transition be smoother during such a beautiful time. Postpartum doulas are often said to “mother the mother” and can provide emotional support, while also assisting the mother adjust to life during those first weeks. Benefits include newborn care assistance, better sleep, light housekeeping and allowing mother a chance at a true recovery.
Who should hire a doula?
Everyone! Doulas are for first time moms, second, third and so on moms, for dads and families. The benefits of having a doula in your support circle are immense and proven to help mothers have better birth outcomes and postpartum experiences.
Do doulas come to hospital and out of hospital births?
Our doulas will attend your birth at the hospital, a birth center or at home.
Can I use a postpartum doula for my adoption journey?
Yes! Absolutely.
